When appropriately prescribed, orthoses can decrease pain and increase stability in an unstable joint, along with preventing potential progression or development of a deformity.

Orthotics

When the foot posture is incorrect, the entire body structure is incorrect. Biomechanical problems, weak muscles, and misaligned bones and arches can increase stresses within the foot structures and the surrounding soft tissues. This can create localised pain in the foot and ankle, and also cause problems in the lower limbs, knees, hips and back.

Foot orthoses will correct misalignment and allow the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. When appropriately prescribed, orthoses can decrease pain and increase stability in an unstable joint and prevent potential progression or development of a deformity.

People who will benefit from orthoses:

  • People with heel pain/plantar fasciitis

  • Arthritis sufferers

  • Athletes to increase endurance and load muscles

  • Children to help aid and correct developmental issues
